Live Long and Prosper

This week has been much shorter than the past since we had Monday and Tuesday off. The long weekend was really nice. Disneyland was super fun on the Fourth of July. I took a white mat frame with me to the park for characters to sign. It was a cool experience and great little keepsake. I was able to squeeze 20 characters on the frame before I completely ran out of space. Each character interaction I had was super great. When I get back to Atlanta, I will print my favorite photopass picture from that day and frame it inside the mat. I am definitely taking another mat with me the next time I go to the parks. I also made a couple friends while at the park and we ended up hanging out until the close of the night.

After class on Thursday, a few others and I went on a Goodwill shopping spree for 80's style clothes. The show "Documentary Now!" featuring Fred Armisen, Bill Hader, and Maya Rudolph was having a live taping that night and participants wearing 80's attire were given the best seats. Since these comedy legends are some of my favorite celebrities, I was willing to go the distance. Unfortunately, due to the cancellation of touring Sony Studios, a new event was added to Thursday's schedule, which did not allow us to attend the taping. Since we had already bought the clothes, we went to The Grove for dinner and a movie all dressed up. It was definitely funny with all the looks we were getting.

Attending Star Trek at the Hollywood Bowl was an awesome experience. I have always wanted to attend a movie with a live orchestra. I am still a bit disappointed that we were not able to attend Harry Potter at the Hollywood Bowl, especially since John Williams' scores are so well known. Growing up I never had much interest in Star Trek, but Friday night has changed my mind. I am quite excited the original Stark Trek and The Next Generation shows are on Amazon Prime Video. I will definitely be binging on them, which will make my Trekkie aunt very thrilled.

Oh Bootie LA. There still is not much to say about that wild ride of a party. It is a bit impressive that Saturday marked their 11th anniversary of moving and grooving to the beat. I absolutely love the dancers, who are part of a group called R.A.I.D. (Random Acts of Irreverent Dance). You can really tell they are having a blast and really hyping the crowd.

Sunday was a beautiful day filled with rest and relaxation on the beach at Malibu. Malibu is such a pretty and fun little town. Towards the end of the afternoon, one of the girls let me borrow their surfboard rental to take a shot at the waves. To say the least, it was awesome! I have always wanted to surf! It takes some getting used to, but surfing is definitely something I really want to pick up. My one recommendation when it comes to preventing sunburns is make sure the person who puts sunscreen on your back actually knows what they are doing so you don't end up with a second degree/acute burn.
