Welcome to L.A. - Internship

Today was my third day at my internship at The Robb Company as the office manager. On Monday, I did not do very much as Sherry, the CEO, was gone most of the day. I was able to read an interesting script though. On Wednesday, I was a little more productive as I organized paperwork all day. Today, it not much different from Monday as Sherry was gone since before I arrived at work. Since Sherry has not told me all of the details of my job as office manager and no one else in the office knows what I needed to do, I started writing my blog until she came in around 1 PM. I organized some more paperwork and ended my day a little after 4 PM. I have become very wary about my internship as I do not know if it will actually help me towards my major and future in the entertainment industry.

Maybe it's a good thing to have one slow week to start off, jest to get use to the office itself but hopefully work will pick up and they will give you more instructions. It might help to just ask the CEO and other people in the office if there's anything extra you can do for them? Or maybe work on getting to know them so you can at least learn about what they do and the different positions in the industry. :) Next week will be better!!!

  2. Great post Sarah! I agree with JustlyPage that it may take some time to get in the swing of things, but I'm sure they appreciate you being there and working hard at what they give you, even if it doesn't seem like much. I think that even if it may not seem like you'll do a lot, it well let you see how one type of company functions in the entertainment industry, and it may help you at least learn what you don't want to do in the future. Hopefully things will pick up next week and you'll get some clearer instructions!
